So to kick it off I want to share a GREAT school website. It was done using free open source programmes and the teacher who have done it is also one of my maths lit teachers. She used Joomla and I have invited her to come and share how she has done it here...time permitting....

Hi Jill,
I have asked Wilna (the teacher responsible for the site) to join the
group and share with us how she has done it. The magic of using an open
source system like that is that you can give teachers access to update
their own stuff (and you do not need to have any webdesign knowledge),
so it is not down to the "webdesigner" (we know that does not work)You

Sorry to be so quiet - half term for us - but I will be back next
week! School web site page is great and I agree that the site you sent
us to is a great example. For me the biggest issue of school web sites
is who is in control of the site - is there someone dedicated to
updating/collecting info/designing graphics and so on and running the

Hi all,
I ahve created a page that will specifically look at school websites.
Waht constitutes a good school website....how to develop it etc...
Those that have input please go and comment and I am very exited about
a particular school website...after moaning this wekend about the bad
quality school websites..
