robots.txt wildcard question

Google somehow found some files on my site named contents.dat, even though they are not linked anywhere. Examples are: /here/list-1/content.dat /here/list-2/content.dat ... ... /here/list-3000/content.dat So there are 3,000 of these files, each unique and 2 deep off the root level. My goal is to block all of them from being crawled.... more »

As an exercise to satisfy my own curiosity, I am rolling my own "contact me" script. The idea is to have it be AJAX-enhanced, but fall-over to a regular old POST for browsers with JavaScript disabled. That part is the easy part. So, should I re-write all my XHTML pages?

I was one the people who jumped on the XHTML bandwagon, then found out that I should not have done so. I do all my new web pages in HTML 4.01 strict. But I still have maybe 200 web pages that were written in XHTML. Is it worth the time to go back and re-write those pages?
