The only reason I even bother still supporting IE 6 is the clients I
have who have several computers still running win2k. IE7 and later only
install on XP/Vista/7.

Google somehow found some files on my site named contents.dat, even
though they are not linked anywhere.
Examples are:
/here/list-1/content.dat
/here/list-2/content.dat
...
...
/here/list-3000/content.dat
So there are 3,000 of these files, each unique and 2 deep off the root
level.
My goal is to block all of them from being crawled.

I should also mention: what this (the new IE) means to me is that I will
soon have one more browser that will require a separate install of
Windows, which I'll only boot up when I need to test a site (and then
wait 20 minutes while a ton of updates install). Let's hope that IE 6
goes away soon... I'm running out of space to partition!

Interesting!
Personally, I don't plan on coding to HTML 5 until the spec is actually
done, and browser support is conventional enough that I won't have to
instruct templates to output one version with HTML 4 markup, and one
with HTML 5. I learned my lesson when I jumped on (and then off) the
XHTML bandwagon!
